👉 This does not mean that we should simply ignore the harm caused by human existence and infrastructure. In a world where animals were no longer viewed as resources or slaves, we would seek solutions to these problems there too. But such discussions are pointless given that, at present, we haven’t even achieved the absolute minimum when it comes to animals — treating them as the individuals they truly are, rather than as resources for humans.
🤯 It’s like talking about injuries and deaths in the workplace whilst simultaneously keeping a person in slavery to turn them into a piece of flesh, material for shoes, a prop, entertainment, or anything else. These are fundamentally different concepts in ethics.
🐐 In human scenarios, this is obviously absurd, but in the context of animals — not yet. And only because you are still indoctrinated to view animals as resources, as almost the whole of society does. Look at reality and see them as individuals who deserve basic decency.
